Resveratrol
Resveratrol is the supplement that Scientists throughout the globe are researching as a nutritional supplement that is exhibiting a host of beneficial health effects, such as anti-aging, anti-cancer, anti-diabetes, antiviral, neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory and improved athletic endurance. It is an anti-oxidant that is produced from the skin of red grapes, Japanese knotweed root, and other plant sources.
Our objective is to educate you, our customers with the most informative and up to date information that becomes available on resveratrol and why you should try taking resveratrol to understand the benefits for yourself.
Red wine benefits
Some years ago, scientists examined the so-called French paradox, which suggested that the French - despite a high fat diet and high consumption of wine - had a remarkably low incidence of heart disease compared with Americans. Most researchers agreed that there was something in the wine that offered protection, and scientists across the globe now know that the key something in the wine is in fact resveratrol.
Anti-aging
Resveratrol may do more than just protect the heart, but could in very high concentrations significantly extend life by preventing a number of age related illnesses. Currently it is being researched for its potential to slow the aging process by fighting off many of the diseases associated with old age including cancer and diabetes. Many anti-aging groups now believe that resveratrol studies show that it can help reverse the process of aging as it stimulates a group of longevity genes in the body called sirtuins which increases the self repair capabilities of the cells to reduce the cell decay associated with aging.
Weight loss
if you are looking to lose weight and yet want to maintain high energy levels then take resveratrol. It is an appetite suppressor and it mimics a calories restrictive diet without feeling severe hunger. While we suggest you also do some exercise to get your body in shape along with taking resveratrol you will discover a level of energy that you previously did not have.
Similarly to a CR diet, researchers feel that resveratrol may reduce and eliminate a variety of ailments such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer and joint disease. It also leads to improved athletic endurance and ease of exercise.
Fitness & Body building
For the sports minded individuals; resveratrol appears to activate enzymes that help muscles use oxygen more effectively, a performance enhancement known to runners as higher VO2 max. The higher your V02 max, the lengthier and more intense the workout you can handle. Your endurance increases by processing your energy more effectively. The testimonial shown directly below is from an Irish competitive cyclist who has experienced the benefits of taken our resveratrol products and it is reflected in his performance.
"I thought the "FionRua" 98% purity resveratrol was excellent, looking at my training data, my heart rate has dropped considerably for the same distance at a higher speed. In the first three cycle races of the season after using the resveratrol I went from not finishing the first race to 5th in the next race and forth on Sunday last. So I have only good things to say about this product. I also experienced a weight loss of 4kgs in the process."

Resveratrol preventing breast cancer?
Research by a team led by Eleanor Rogan of the Eppley Institute for Research in Cancer and Allied Diseases at the University of Nebraska suggests that resveratrol suppresses the abnormal cell growth that leads to most types of breast cancer. Because breast cancer is fuelled by estrogens, by having too much estrogens in the system, whether male or female, one increases their risk in getting breast cancer and resveratrol acts to block the action of the estrogens, preventing it from feeding tumour growth.
Resveratrol and Alzheimer’s
Amyloidal-beta peptides amyloidal-beta is a key ingredient in the formation of the plaque in the brain that leads to Alzheimer’s. Litwin-Zucker Research Centre for the study of Alzheimer's disease and Memory Disorders in New York, conducted a study to explore how resveratrol would apply to cells, which produce human amyloidal-beta. They tested the resveratrol's effectiveness by monitoring amyloidal-beta levels inside and outside the cells. The test results showed that the levels of treated amyloidal-beta were much lower than the levels in the untreated cells. Researchers concluded that resveratrol act by stimulating the degradation of amyloidal-beta peptides by the protease; this is a barrel shaped multi-protein complex that can specifically digest proteins into short polypeptides and amino acids. Other studies show that moderate consumption of wine is associated with a lower incidence of Alzheimer's disease (Truelsen et al., 2002; Luchsinger et al., 2004). Wine is enriched in antioxidant compounds with potential neuroprotective activities. In the early 1990s the presence of Resveratrol in red wine was detected where it is suspected to afford antioxidant and neuroprotective properties (Miller and Rice-Evans, 1995).So its effectiveness against this peptide is not in the halting of the peptide’s production but instead found in resveratrol’s ability to encourage its breakdown. This may explain why studies have shown that Alzheimer’s disease is less common in populations that consume moderate amounts of red wine.
What is Resveratrol
Resveratrol which is also known as polygonum cuspidatum. It is a phytoalexin anti-oxidant that is produced from the skin of red grapes, Japanese knotweed root, and other plant sources. It is produced to protect the plant against bacteria and fungi. Interestingly plants are attacked by many of the same fungi and bacteria that invade humans so resveratrol has been found to have the same bacterial and anti-fungal properties within our bodies as they already do in plants.
Indeed, resveratrol has surprised the biomedical research community as it exhibits many amazing medical properties which include but is no limited to slowing the progression and killing certain types of cancer cells , suppressing and quenching the formation of free radicals with potential anti-aging effect in cell culture studies, lowering high blood pressure in hypertensive individuals, reducing cholesterol levels individuals afflicted with hypercholesteremia.
